Planning your trip

The two decisions that shape the whole weekend are when you book and where you stay. The best ocean-facing suites are finite and re-booked by returning guests, so early booking is the single biggest advantage you can give yourself. On location, the choice between Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach and Main Beach is about pace and space rather than distance — all three sit along the same beachfront display line. The guides below expand on each area:

If your question is not covered here, the full Pacific Airshow guide walks through the weekend in detail, and our concierge team can answer anything specific to your trip — from family suites and airport transfers to a fully managed VIP experience.

The Full List

Your Pacific Air Show questions, answered

What is the Pacific Air Show?+

The Pacific Air Show is a major international air display held on the Gold Coast, featuring military jets, aerobatic teams, formation displays and historic aircraft flown along the ocean beachfront in front of thousands of spectators.

When and where is Pacific Airshow Gold Coast 2027?+

The 2027 event dates have not yet been announced. The event precinct is centred on Surfers Paradise beach opposite Cavill Avenue at 2 Esplanade, Surfers Paradise QLD 4217.

What time does Pacific Airshow start each day?+

The previous event map lists gates opening at 9am, flying from approximately 10am and a finish between 3pm and 4pm. These timings are guides and can change on the day.

Where should I buy Pacific Airshow tickets?+

Buy event tickets only through the official Pacific Airshow Gold Coast ticket website. Official tickets provide entry to the managed beachfront precinct and the inclusions attached to the selected category. Accommodation booked through Airshow Suites is separate from event admission.

What aircraft appear at the Pacific Air Show?+

Programs vary by year but typically include fast military jets, aerobatic aircraft, formation display teams, helicopters and historic aircraft. The full program is announced ahead of each show.

Where is the best place to stay for the show?+

Surfers Paradise for the most direct views, Broadbeach for a balance of view and space, and Main Beach for quiet luxury. In all three, an ocean-facing suite with a private balcony is what matters most.

How early should I book accommodation?+

As early as possible — ideally the moment dates are confirmed. The ocean-view suites with the best balconies are finite and largely re-booked by returning guests, so waiting usually means limited or inland options.

Do I need a balcony to enjoy the show?+

You can watch from the beach, but a private ocean-facing balcony is the single biggest upgrade to the experience. It lets you watch in comfort, avoid crowds and photograph without glass glare.

Is the Pacific Air Show family-friendly?+

Yes. The beachfront setting, the spectacle and the availability of spacious suites make it a strong family trip. Families should prioritise space, a safe mid-floor balcony and walkability — see our family accommodation guide.

How do I get to the Gold Coast for the show?+

Gold Coast Airport is the closest airport; the official organiser estimates approximately 45 minutes by road to Surfers Paradise. Public transport is recommended for reaching the event precinct, and there is no on-site event parking. Pre-book transfers and check the official getting-there page before travel.

Which gate should I use?+

The official map recommends Gates A, B, E or F for General Admission; D or E for accessible tickets; B or D for Show Centre Zone; B for Premium GA; and C for hospitality guests. Check the official map again before attending because arrangements may change.

What is the difference between a suite and a hotel room?+

A suite offers separate living and sleeping areas, a full kitchen, a private balcony and substantially more space — ideal for an airshow weekend where you spend time in the room during the day. A standard hotel room is fine for sleeping but far less comfortable for watching the show.

Is Airshow Suites affiliated with the Pacific Airshow?+

No. Airshow Suites is an independent luxury accommodation concierge and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Pacific Airshow or its organisers. We curate suites and concierge services for guests attending the event.
